Shipping Policy — The Intentional Pet

Processing Time
All orders are processed and dispatched within 48 hours of being received. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day. You'll receive a confirmation email with tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

Shipping Methods & Rates
We ship Australia-wide using Australia Post. At checkout, you can choose from:

Standard Shipping — calculated at checkout based on Australia Post's current rates for your delivery location.
Express Post — available where Australia Post provides Express Post coverage for your region, calculated at checkout based on their current rates. If Express Post isn't available for your postcode, this option won't appear at checkout.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically based on your order weight, dimensions, and delivery address.

Free Standard Shipping
Orders totalling $150 (AUD) or more, after any discounts have been applied, qualify for free Standard Shipping, automatically applied at checkout. This offer applies to Standard Shipping only - if you'd like your order sent via Express Post, standard Express Post rates will still apply, even on orders over $150.

Please be aware that any products from our Temperature Sensitive collection will only be shipped via Express Post to ensure they arrive with as little time as possible in transit. Because of this, these products do not qualify for our Free Standard Shipping on orders over $150; however, you will benefit from a 30% reduced Express Shipping rate instead.

Estimated Delivery Times
As a guide only (actual times depend on Australia Post's network and your location):

Standard Shipping: typically 5–10 business days for metro areas, and up to 10–14 business days for regional and remote areas.
Express Post: typically 2–5 business days for eligible postcodes within the Express Post network.

Please allow additional time for deliveries to regional and remote areas.

These are estimates provided by Australia Post and are not guaranteed. Delivery times may be affected by public holidays, peak periods, or circumstances outside our control.

Order Tracking
Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive a tracking number via email so you can follow your parcel's journey through Australia Post's tracking system.

PO Boxes & Parcel Lockers
We can ship to PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers where supported by Australia Post's service.

Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Parcels
If your order hasn't arrived within the estimated timeframe, or has arrived damaged, please contact us at hello@theintentionalpet.com with your order number so we can investigate with Australia Post on your behalf.

Details

Gentle, consistent pressure is a well known calming technique for anxious dogs, similar in principle to a weighted blanket for a person. This calming shirt applies that same idea, offering a wearable, drug free option to support your dog through stressful events like storms, fireworks, or travel.

For guardians managing a dog with situational anxiety, this shirt can become a genuinely useful part of a broader calming toolkit, sitting alongside other strategies like a quiet, safe space or a calming supplement, rather than needing to rely on any single approach alone.

FAQs

How does a calming shirt work?
It applies gentle, consistent pressure to the torso, which is believed to have a calming effect similar to swaddling, though individual response varies by dog.

How long can my dog wear this?
Follow the product guidance, but these are generally intended for use during specific stressful events rather than extended, continuous wear.

Will this work for every dog?
Response varies; some dogs respond very well to pressure-based calming, while others may need additional support strategies alongside it.
